Easy 30 Minute Chicken Chow Mein

This easy 30-minute Chicken Chow Mein recipe is a quick and flavorful stir-fry thats perfect for a busy weeknight dinner. Tender chicken, colorful vegetables, and savory sauce tossed with chow mein noodles make for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients:

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, thinly sliced
  • 8 oz chow mein noodles
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 cup bean sprouts
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions:

Cook the chow mein noodles according to package instructions

Drain and set aside

In a large skillet or wok, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat

Add the sliced chicken and stir-fry until its no longer pink, about 5 minutes

Remove from the skillet and set aside

In the same skillet, add a bit more oil if needed and saut the onion and garlic until they become fragrant and slightly softened

Add the sliced bell peppers, mushrooms, and bean sprouts

Stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until the vegetables are tender but still crisp

Return the cooked chicken to the skillet

Add soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ground ginger, salt, and pepper

Stir-fry for another 2-3 minutes to combine everything and heat through

Add the cooked chow mein noodles to the skillet and toss everything together for a couple of minutes until the noodles are well-coated with the sauce and heated through

Serve hot, garnished with chopped green onions
