  • A pinch of salt
  • 200g 1 1/4 cups milk chocolate, chopped
  • 100g 1/2 cup dark chocolate, chopped
  • 100g 1/2 cup white chocolate, chopped
  • 200g 1 1/2 cups pretzels, crushed
  • 400g 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 150g 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 tbsp golden syrup
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 180C 350F and grease a 9x9-inch square baking tin

In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy

Add in the all-purpose flour, malted milk powder, and a pinch of salt

Mix until a dough forms

Press the dough into the prepared baking tin and bake for 20-25 minutes or until its lightly golden brown

Let it cool completely

In a heatproof bowl, combine the milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and white chocolate

Melt them over a double boiler or in the microwave in short bursts, stirring until smooth

Spread the melted chocolate mixture evenly over the cooled shortbread base and sprinkle the crushed pretzels on top

Allow it to set

In a saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk, unsalted butter, golden syrup, and vanilla extract

Heat gently, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and turns golden brown

This will take about 10-15 minutes

Pour the caramel over the pretzel layer and smooth it out

Allow it to cool and set

Once fully set, cut into squares and enjoy
