Waffle-Iron Hash Browns
Use a waffle iron to make crispy and tasty hash browns. This way makes sure that every bite has the right texture and a great crunch.
Ingredients:
- 2 large russet potatoes, peeled and grated
- 1/4 cup grated onion
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
Preheat your waffle iron to medium-high heat
Place the grated potatoes and grated onion in a clean kitchen towel or cheesecloth
Squeeze out as much moisture as possible from the potatoes and onion
In a mixing bowl, combine the squeezed potatoes and onion with the flour, salt, and black pepper
Mix well to combine
Brush the waffle iron with vegetable oil to prevent sticking
Place a portion of the potato mixture onto the preheated waffle iron, spreading it out evenly
Close the waffle iron and cook for about 10-12 minutes, or until the hash browns are golden brown and crispy
Carefully remove the waffle iron hash browns and serve hot
