Summer Baked Beans

A tasty and simple baked bean recipe ideal for summertime get-togethers. A zesty sauce, bacon, and molasses combine to make a delicious dish that goes well with any outdoor meal.

Ingredients:

  • 4 cans 15 oz each of navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper optional
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 4 slices of bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions:

Set the oven temperature to 175C 350F

Ketchup, molasses, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper if using should all be combined in a sizable mixing bowl

Blend thoroughly

To the bowl, add the rinsed and drained navy beans

Add the crumbled bacon and chopped onion and mix well

Stir the beans until the sauce coats them evenly

Spread the bean mixture evenly in a baking dish after transferring it there

Bake for 45 to 50 minutes in a preheated oven, or until the top is caramelized and the beans are hot and bubbly

Before serving, take it out of the oven and allow it to cool for a few minutes

Savor these mouthwatering baked beans with summertime barbecue or picnic
